Anyone here naturalized in Japan while single? How did you feel about it?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been living in Japan for about 12 years, and I’m currently thinking about applying for naturalization.
To be honest, my concern isn’t really about the process itself, but more about how I feel about it. I’m single and don’t have any family here, and I think that’s what makes me a bit anxious.
Most of the people I’ve seen who naturalized seem to be married or have family in Japan, so I guess I’m wondering if anyone here has gone through it while being single.
If you did, how did you feel about it? Did being alone affect your decision or how you experienced the process?
For context, I’m working full-time and have been paying taxes and pension, so things are stable on paper, it’s more the emotional side I’m unsure about.
