Hi everyone

My father in law called us today that our swimming pool of the house (Algarve - Portugal) has a problem with the skimmers. Both skimmers and the pipes that go from the pump to the skimmers are full of residue (see picture) this is only a small piece he got out using his high pressure washer. It really sticks to the pipes and looks impossible to get off. He said it looks like Tek7 (silicon based glue) that is 10years old. It's soft and jelly but still a solid substance.

Did anyone had the same problem? And any idea what this substance is and how to get rid of it?

We use all the basic products like chloride and flucculant, pH+ and pH-... We do this for years without any problems.

Thanks for the advise.
