Hiii, guys, sorry if this has been asked but I'm busy with a rewatch of Smallville and I'm currently on season 9 where Clark and Lois are now a couple and I'm just confused...

Clark says to Zatanna in Warrior and then to Brainiac in Homecoming that he learned from his relationship with Lana and is trying not to make the same mistakes again (I'm paraphrasing) and I'm just kind of wondering how exactly has he learned from his relationship with Lana??? Like obviously he's matured, is willing to fight for Lois and I know *why* he doesn't tell Lois his secret, especially in season 9 but.... his words still really confuse me.

If someone could explain or maybe share their perspective, I'd really appreciate it 😉
