Please help
Hi everyone! This is Bean Bag. He is a beautiful betta fish. I am a new owner but I tried to do everything right. I tried to cycle the tank but then he arrived earlier than anticipated so I had to complete the cycle with the fish in. I gave him a filter and a heater. I bought live plants. I have the test STRIPS and bought the API testing kit. Both say that there is nitrite and nitrate in the water. I have already done water change and it didn’t help.
Can you please just watch this video and tell me if you see anything off about his behavior? Specifically, I think that it’s weird that he jerks a lot (not just like swimming but almost what j would describe as a seizure), he goes to the top a lot, he almost floats and then is bottom heavy so he goes a bit vertical.
I am considering giving him up to a local rescue center so they can save him. I’m in over my head and I don’t want to kill him.
