Set a timer/alarm with just two swipes!
After preparing a radial touch control implementation over the last week, now that the PebbleOS update is out, I've just pushed Instant Timer v2.0.0 to the appstore.
Following the design principles for this app; its a slightly hidden interface that you'll need a minute or two to learn/understand, but once you do I believe it to be the fastest way to set a timer/alarm on a smartwatch (without a rotary encoder):
- Touch, hold and drag to select hours, then minutes; this clears all state and starts a new timer/alarm.
- Start touching from the middle to set a timer duration, or from the edge to set an alarm time
- To cancel, finish touching in the middle or don't select any minutes (there's a default 2s timeout, configurable in the app config)
It's pretty much a Pebble adaptation of the alarm-setting interface used by the default Android Timer/Alarms app.
I've only been able to develop and test this on the emulator, so keen to hear if/how well it works (hopefully at all).
