Hey there! So, like 5 years ago, I bought 2 Ettitude brand bamboo comforters because they're plastic-free, non-toxic, yadda yadda. It weirds me out to have plastic in my bedding and clothes. I thought I bought at least one of them in the machine-washable option they had at the time, because who wants to pay for or deal with a dry-cleaning service? However, they've been in the laundry pile for ages, and I just saw that they are both "dry clean only". Obviously, it's gonna be too late to get customer service help with that! Just took one of them to the dry cleaners and they said it was gonna be $80 to clean! Insane, I can't pay that regularly, and I wanted to start using this as my regular duvet. That one won't fit in my washing machine, for sure, because of its size and weight, but I think the smaller, thinner one I have would (full/queen, lightweight).

Has anyone successfully washed and dried their Ettitude bamboo comforter in a home washing machine/dryer? If so, what settings did you use, and do you have any tips? Obviously, if I attempt this, I'm thinking cold/delicate with a gentle dry cycle, or maybe even air drying, but does anyone have different suggestions based on doing this successfully? I know the company recommends dry cleaning to "protect the delicate filling", but is the filling easily-damaged, or will it just likely reduce the life of the product slightly?

Would love to hear any experiences. Looked today to see if they still offered the machine-washable option, thinking I could save up for it or get it on a payment plan, and i expected a similar price to what I paid before, but OH MY GOD. They're charging almost $600 now for the one I sent to the dry cleaners, and almodt $500 for the full/queen lightweight! I'm stunned. Tariffs? Greed? Both? Oh my god. Insanity. Really hoping I can wash at least one of these at home from time-to-time because I can't even afford the dry cleaning bill, let alone a new comforter, but I'd like to be able to sleep with a duvet that's clean, too. :/ Don't buy from this company, guys. I feel like they don't respect their customers to hike up the price by $260-$352 within a few years; Usually companies try to find ways to bring the cost down a bit after their products have been on the market awhile.
