My reasoning is that I don’t have real power to change the system. It’s huge and messy and honestly pretty broken. Instead of stressing about that, I focus on things I can actually control like my career, health, relationships, and helping people around me.

I’m not saying you should be completely ignorant. Being somewhat informed is fine. But I don’t see the point in constantly worrying or getting emotionally invested in things I can’t meaningfully impact. That energy feels better spent improving my own situation and making sure I win.

I also think a lot of people spend more time complaining about problems than actually doing anything to improve their lives. Things like volunteering, donating, or helping people directly seem like a better use of time than being upset.

For example, with things like racism, I understand it exists and it sucks. But I don’t think it’s realistic to expect it to fully go away. By succeeding, making more money, being well liked, and frankly being worth more than others genuinely shuts people up pretty well.

Overall I just think focusing on what you can control and trying to get ahead is a more productive way to live than being heavily invested in politics and crying about stuff all the time

EDIT: I vote. Thats about it
