Have flown quite a bit over the last few years and after being EP for the last few years am just Platinum through next winter. I'll be doing a baseball excursion to check out a few Dbacks games in June and up to Minneapolis for a Twins game. While I've flown F domestically a bunch and have fairly good upgrade odds, I'm tempted to book F outright on both legs as they're being offered for 14,500 miles each way vs. 7,000 in Y.

Even after booking F both ways, I'd still have roughly 250K AA miles along with nearly 80K Citi TY points I'll likely convert to AA at some point in the future but am torn between saving the 15Kmiles and booking Y vs. guaranteed F. EF inventory looks very promising for possible upgrades a month out but am curious what other frequent flyers would do.

Routing on the outbound is MSP-PHL-PHX, so the upgrade for the 4+ hour PHL-PHX seems more than worth it for the price.
