LOCATION: Missouri

This is happening in my neighborhood, I am not involved and do not know the two parties well. One neighbor put a handmade sign on their lawn, with an arrow pointing to the neighbor’s house, which says, “Racist POS.”

This sounds like libel to me, but what do I know? What could the accused neighbor do, legally? Call the police? File a lawsuit? How would this work?

I have no intention of talking to either of these neighbors, I don’t know them well, but they always seemed okay to me. I’m curious but not curious enough to stick my nose into their business. I’m just curious as to how this could all play out for them. Thanks for any insights.
