Rolex 5512 pricing advice + Chrono24 worth it?

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a vintage Rolex Submariner ref. 5512 (no-date, meters first, early 60s case based on serial). It’s all original( I guess) with a really nice patina, but it does have a mechanical issue I want to be upfront about:

The crown/stem doesn’t engage properly so when I pull it out to set the time, it feels like it slips/disconnects from the movement, so I currently can’t adjust the time.

Condition-wise:

- Case shows wear (unpolished look, honest vintage condition)

- Dial and hands have strong patina

- Head only (I bought a nylon bracelet from Amazon)

- No box/papers

I’m trying to figure out:

  1. What would be a realistic asking price on Chrono24 given the condition + issue?
  2. Is Chrono24 a good place to sell something like this, or should I stick to private sales / dealer routes?
  3. Would it make more sense to fix the crown issue first, or sell as-is and price it accordingly?

as I have posted before, I’ love in Seattle

Appreciate any input, especially from people who’ve sold vintage Subs recently 🙏

Quick follow up from my last post. I opened the caseback and confirmed it’s a cal. 1570.

The watch is running, but the crown has an issue:
when I unscrew it, the entire crown/stem pulls out instead of staying engaged with the movement.

Because of that, I’m not able to set the time, it won’t click into the normal positions.

For those with experience:
– what would a realistic service cost be for this kind of issue?
– any trusted watchmakers or shops in the Seattle area you’d recommend for vintage Rolex (I've been living here for two years, Ive been to Ben Bridge to service my Explorer but im looking for something more affordable and specialized in vintage watches?

I’d prefer someone who understands vintage and won’t over-replace parts.

Appreciate any guidance.
