So I've been living in an attic for the past year ish and I also have lots of books that I LOVE. I recently learned that the silverfish I see practically everywhere really really like paper, and have been hanging around my books!!! I have one little bookshelf full of books and another long shelf full of them too. On two occasions I found ONE tiny silverfish scuttle out of a book I'd just picked up within the past few weeks. Just today, I threw away a massive stack of papers that had been bug-eaten, and I saw quite a few little guys crawling around in there so im assuming those were babies and they were bred IN the papers EWW and AUUGH. Who knows how many silver fish are hiding in my room now??? Im loowkey freaking out because I really want to protect my books. I've already placed lavender, cloves, and moth balls all around my books. Should I leave them as is, or pack them away in plastic boxes? I was concerned about qoute unquote storing them due to the darkness and potential humidity of a thick plastic box (my only option at the moment), but I dont want silverfish to just wiggle into my books and wreck the whole lot while they're sitting there looking pretty. Any advice? Thanks everyone.
TL;DR: Should I store my books on regular shelves or in plastic boxes amid a silverfish-ridden attic?
