Hi all, I am about to integrate print on demand into my artist website (artello for prints and Printify for apparel).

I was wondering if y’all order samples for every item and every variant you offer, or just of every product base/print size. I make queer art and offer a lot of different color variants for different identities, and it would quickly rack up my costs to order samples for every color and design. What are best practices here?

I am a small artist and I have traditionally done a lot of Gelli plate printing. I have a few events coming up that are significantly larger than I usually work, and I really wanted to be able to offer t-shirt options. I ultimately ordered a Solar fast starter kit as it made the most sense for my style and budget, and I really LOVE the medium.

The issue is, I manufacture all of my art mart products in house and my website sells primarily reproduction prints from a print on demand site. My most popular size is 8x10. I have ideas for cyanotype pieces, but the originals would have to be roughly 16x20 (based on the size of the objects I want to capture), and I would like to offer reproductions in smaller sizes.

Is selling giclée reproductions a thing in cyanotype circles? Any tips for maintaining transparency in a way that shoppers will actually notice? I don’t want people to be misled about what they are getting in any way.
