Thoughts on Alikhanov's path in The Fire Rises
(This meme isn't mine, it's some cool guy's from Reddit)
>!Alikhanov's Path is a massive reference to the visual novel "IZGUB 2001," which I honestly don't like at all, but let's leave that aside. The problem is, this reference is completely out of place given the very context of Alikhanov's Path, and Alikhanov's Path itself is very strange, like, look: "Oh yeah, democracy has arrived in Russia, the war is won! The time has come to use this democracy to elect... a fascist clericalist who will transform the country into an ultra-right state..." Moreover, he then encounters no resistance at all at the top, facing a popular opposition. This makes it clear that Medvedev has failed to properly build institutions at ALL, and then he takes actions that should, in theory, kill the Russian economy, but... they don't.!<
>!You could tell me that the same could be said about Zhirinovsky, but firstly, he was elected during a time of crisis, and secondly, he has been rebuilding the system brick by brick, for six years, and doing so very successfully. Alikhanov, on the other hand... has done it in a much shorter time, based on a state whose government was able to prove its effectiveness and win the war.!<
>!It's not that I'm asking TFR to have great logic, I'm not a big fan of the mod whose name should not be mentioned, but TFR has ALWAYS had the main rule "Radicals don't overthrow the government out of nowhere." This has always been either the result of major crises or the result of defeat in war. Here we see neither one nor the other. I think if Alikhanov's subpath were part of the LDPR's path, I would even like it, but as it is, alas, it looks too inappropriate.!<
