Question for those surrounded by bad dealerships.
Hey everyone, looking for a solution if there is one. I currently own a 2007 Toyota Tundra, a 2019 Toyota Camry and a 2023 Toyota Venza. The issue is that the 2 Toyota dealerships that service my area within 50 miles are horrendous. They average a 2.4 and 2.6 star review on Dealer Rater. To keep it short I went to one to test drive a New 4Runner and Tacoma and the vehicle ran out of gas a mile away from the dealership. Not a "we are sorry you had to walk back or anything or so much as a follow up call". Was treated poorly after buying a 2019 Camry with cash after finding cosmetic damage to the center console within 4 miles of purchasing the vehicle. They were upset with me for not financing I think and not buying an extended warranty. I recently had them do the transmission service and when I got home I noticed I had been trailing transmission fluid the whole way. They apologized and did the service again without charge.
They recently serviced a New 4Runner for a family and left the keys in the ignition, it was stolen and then totaled by the thief....the dealership refuses to assist the owners in any way saying its a insurance issue now.
My issue is im due to purchase another vehicle soon and I would like to buy a 2026 Rav4 Woodland edition...im just nervous about buying and having it serviced with the only 2 options I have. The next nearest dealer is in another state and 4 or 5 hour drive round trip.
Have any of you dealt with this before and if so what was your solution? The only dealer near me that everyone recommends is a Subaru dealership, but im a Toyota fan at heart and really like the hybrid systems, ive also never owned a Subaru or dealt with boxer engines.
Just hoping for a solution.
