I think we all mostly agree that the DC Compendiums are (1) a killer bargain for the price, and (2) a great way to read the tie-ins and peripheral stories. I personally love the fact that the five volumes of the MILESTONE Compendiums will collect all (?) the issues, etc. from the imprint in chronological(ish) order.

So that got me thinking: DC has…absorbed…a few companies/imprints over the decades. And while, yes, their parent company absolutely has the money to print their whole bloody back catalog, we know they won’t print, say, a BLOODLINES Compendium because it would probably sell about 19 copies in totality (and only once they hit the clearance shelf).

But…what if? What if they did a line-wide series of compendiums?

THE MARVEL FAMILY incorporating the characters whose names can’t legally appear on covers. 🙄 But there is so much from the Fawcett line that should be collected.

A Charleston Compendium would, yes, double-dip a bit into the PEACEMAKER Finest, but it could also add so much more. Same with a Quality Compendium, etc.

Again, just dreaming, but it could also be a way for DC to see if there’s any IP they’re just sitting on that could be reintroduced to modern audiences. You know, these kids today with their Absolute Variant Blind Bag Covers and whatnot.
