Hi guys,
Looking for my first pair of boots (rented in the past) and I'm having a bit of a dilemma.
I want to do stuff like Matterhorn or Rainier, but I also want to get more into snowboard mountaineering. Stuff like steep couloirs in Chamonix and etc. Already do splitboard and backcountry but never did hardcore, narrow steep couloirs where I need more than just a walking ice axe.
From what I understood, B2 would be best as an all-around for stuff like Matterhorn/Rainier/Baker and could also work on Mont Blanc for example.
But for steeper stuff and winter snowboard mountaineering, a B3 would be better.
Question is: Can I get away with a B2 boot and semi-auto crampons for my winter snowboarding plans?
Thanks in advance!
