IWTL how to use my software development experience to freelance

I've been working as a software developer full-time for 4 years now and I really enjoy my job. However, I'd like to make some extra money on the side by working on freelance projects. I have no idea how to get my foot in the door for that. Platforms like Upwork and Fiverr are extremely saturated. How can I start?

I’ve been working as a software engineer for 4 years, mainly focused on web development. I’ve also built Discord bots, small game projects, automation tools, and utility scripts for both personal and client work.

I’m open to freelance work of all sizes, including:

  • web apps and websites
  • bug fixing and feature development
  • Discord bots
  • backend/API work
  • automation scripts and internal tools
  • frontend improvements and UI polish

I can also help clean up your AI-generated spaghetti code that somehow made it to production. If your repo contains 14 nearly identical helper functions, 6 abandoned frameworks, and comments written like a hostage situation, I’ve probably seen worse.

If you have a project in mind or need help fixing vibe coded slop, DM me with details.
