I am genuinely fed up of windows. There is one thing stopping me from switching to linux. My dell xps has a maxxaudio software for its subwoofers to work. And my laptop’s sound is not very great without them. If someone can help me find a solution to make it sound good (make the subwoofers work) then i will delete windows today and switch to linux mint.
Why i am fed up of windows?:
I keep getting error notifications of an application trying to launch and windows defener (even while it’s turned off) blocks it from launching. I don’t know what that app is or what it wants to do. The only thing i know is that the notifications are so annoying. Notifications come as 5 in a row one for each different dll file it tried to use and windows doesn’t recognize it. Second thing is the frustrating updates. One of those updates broke my GRAPHICS DRIVERS! Apparentlt now windows can’t detect that i have a rtx 3050 Ti in my laptop and can’t install the drivers even after downloading them from dell’s official website they say no compatible hardware was found.
The main thing is that even tho windows is not able find the said gpu it is still giving it max amount of power which causes my laptop to overheat. And so the fans run at full speed all of the time and the battery life has been dropped from a solid 4-5 hours down to hardly 1-1.5 hours.
Just to be clear my graphics card is nor broken. I run the bios diagnostic and looked in system info in my bios and the gpu does show up there and doesn’t show any issues. I have a bootable usb of linux mint mate and ir is able to detect the graphics card too and is even nice enough to ask me which version i want.
