So we lost water pressure about a week ago and after some investigation and getting some well drillers out we found out or well pump was shot. We got a new pump done earlier this week and we are having a new issue that I’m not sure about. We apparently have lots of sediment in our well and after about 2 days the filter is completely jammed full of silt which obviously causes our water pressure to drop drastically. I’ve changed the filter 2 times so far and today I went out and bought new filters. My question is can I reuse the filter after cleaning out the filter housing or should I use new ones until the sediment calms down?
After the well pump was installed we did a flush cycle that was recommended by the pump installer which resulted in our well drying up so I’m assuming the sediment got disturbed and will eventually clear up. If it continues to completely block the filter I’ll get it looked at for sure.
