Hey everyone. Picking brains…

2010 F150 STX RWD, 4.6L, 4 spd auto, 139k, tranny rebuilt 2 yrs ago.

Started feeling surging or slipping in what I think is third gear. Only under acceleration. Doesn’t happen often and seems to stop 20 min into a drive. When it does, throws codes for misfires (cyl 8 or 7&8). Stops when I take foot off accelerator. Engine rides smooth otherwise. Really seems like a tranny issue (as it’s only in third gear and fine when I shift down into 2 or idle). But only codes are misfires…

Recently had new sparks, oil change, and o2 sensor.

Thoughts? Advice? Ok to keep driving?
