Safety Alert; Attacked at Lucky 13
I’m honestly still really rattled and don't want to deal with any more aggression, but I feel like I have to warn other women in Alameda.
Last night at Lucky 13 (around 10:57 PM), I had a terrifying experience that has left me feeling totally violated and unsafe.
We were sitting outside at a table with a group of people who I did not know. Nor did I speak to (my friend and them chatted a bit so I assumed they knew each other). My friend and I decided we were going to leave when the man sitting next to my friend decided to suddenly snap—telling my friend to "get out or else." Since we were already in the process of leaving we got up immediately. He also got up. I waited for his friend sitting next to me to stand up in case he got any bright ideas but the second I stood up, this man charged me and got right in my face. His friends then having to hold him back.
He was clearly wasted (he had that "dead behind the eyes" look) and probably should have been taken home hours prior. What makes it even worse is that his friends tried to downplay it by, saying they "didn't see it" and that he’s a "good guy." Even though they had to hold him back from coming closer to me.
I'm sorry, but "good guys" don’t charge at women who aren't even talking to them.
I don't feel safe at Lucky 13 anymore if this is the kind of behavior that gets condoned or ignored. I took a photo of him and his friends which I’m sure I’m not allowed to post.
I’m incredibly shaken up and rattled. This is not what this community is about.
To be clear this is not about lucky 13 the bar itself. I also say condoned because the worker that was out there did not handle the situation correctly and said that multiple fights had broken out over the last few weeks. I do trust the bartenders at lucky 13 but none of them were around and the one person who is choosing to act as representative handled it poorly.
