Question for the knowledgeable folks here... I am now the owner of an existing outdoor kitchen with an Urban Island 21129 in it. I think this was put together ~10 years ago and, frankly, was never cleaned or maintained after that. The grill works but needs a deep clean and all internal parts replaced. I'm planning to use this long term and trying to figure out the best thing to do with the kitchen. My grill history is all on a Weber Genesis E-410 4-burner rolling grill, FWIW.

Trying to figure out the best option:

  1. Buy replacement burners, grill plates, heat plates for ~$1050 from Grill-parts.com. I'll need to deep clean the grill (fine) and cross my fingers that nothing else like ignition is failing.

  2. Buy a replacement UI 38" grill for ~$1600 from Costco. I get a warranty with that and know everything is at a good starting point. I think (?) it would be a straight drop-in to the countertop. It doesn't have the rotisserie that the installed UI does, but I don't plan on using that and honestly seems like one less thing to break.

  3. Upgrade to something else. If I'm already dropping money, do I go with something nicer and will it make a difference? I am not rebuilding the kitchen so would want it to drop in to existing hole. This is where my inexperience shines... would any 38" grill fit? Should I stick to Bull? Is a $4k grill going to work better / last longer than a UI?

I appreciate any thoughts/help to get me to the right answer. I don't mind spending incremental money to have less durability/maintenance concerns. I also don't need to show off a fancy grill. Thank you!
