Cat keeps taking out other cat's collar who passed away
I have a 1 year old cat that keeps taking out from an organizing basket, the collar of my old cat who passed away 9 months ago. I keep it underneath a HEAVY pile of papers in a basket on my kitchen table to sort it out when I'm ready and she still finds it. This cat, which we got as a kitten and knew my old cat for 6 months before she passed away, keeps taking out her collar at night and leaving it on the floor in different rooms.
I'm telling myself that maybe she misses her or wants to play with her. For info, I have another young cat with whom she plays and gets along very well, so she does have company.
Do you think I should put away the collar in a ziploc bag where she won't be able to find it? Or is the collar bringing her confort and it's best to let her take it when she wants to?
