My girlfriend moved into a new apartment and asked me to hang her curtains. I figured it would be nice and easy. Well the stud finder wasn’t really working so I knocked to find one. Started screwing in and it worked right up till it was almost all the way in and then would spin and not advance. Then I tried using an anchor and the same thing happened with the anchor, it would get to a point and just spin. Tried other spots and the same thing would happen. I would get one screw in and it would hold nicely but then go to screw in the top one and it wouldn’t advance and just spin. Eventually I had to accept defeat.

What am I doing wrong? I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong. Should have been a 5-10 job but nope.
