I have officially quit finasteride , I am 24 years old and I didn’t have an aggressive hair loss just corners receding and slight thinning but nothing crazy still a decent full set of hair. I have tried finasteride on / off for years, it definitely works and makes my hair super healthy and thick. When taking finasteride I feel super weak and feel like my face is super feminine. These are very small side effects that I could handle until it started to affect me psychologically / mentally health . I have always had a stutter but when taking finasteride my speech is 10x worse. Possibly due to increase anxiety / brain fog. My verbal recall / memory was also affected. No sexual side effects for me
It’s hard to just blame finasteride when it could be a cluster or things causing these effects. But immediately when quitting finasteride I feel so much better mentally, and feel a sense of calmness. My speech is 10x better and I don’t stutter as much not perfect but insane difference. But after years on usage on / off I can determined in my case my body / mind does not tolerate finasteride. Growth of hair is amazing nonetheless.
I will be taking a natural route to try and prevent hair loss even if it isn’t effective. I am not willing to trade off my metal well being for amazing hair.
