This combo of body and lens is such a hassle to carry all day, but damn, it's so fun to use. 17mm is so fun to use for a quick "portrait" session; you can be very close to the subject and capture everything, creating a sense of closeness. sadly as most with lens from this era the autofocus is dead so i had to focus manually which is not that hard to do for a focal length this wide

Got this lens a few weeks ago for around 100 euros, I've heard people say some good things about it; with a few people claiming it to be one of Nikon's sharpest F Mount lens.

Honestly having amazing sharpness is not my favorite thing about this lens, instead it's the versatility the focal length have. It sits in a perfect ranger for me where you can still capture a lot of the environment while also filling the frame with the subject, i was skeptical of 55mm at first, as someone who primary shoots wide angle before. But right now it might be my favorite focal length
