I installed Immich via Docker and everything was working fine until yesterday. Yesterday, I uploaded some photos from my Android phone. When I logged into the web interface afterward, I noticed that some pictures no longer have thumbnails. I’ve spent hours trying to fix this — moving files, re-downloading them, deleting and regenerating thumbnails, etc. — but nothing has worked.
Every time I ask Immich to regenerate thumbnails for all my pictures (~100), the process completes in just a second, and the missing thumbnails remain missing. I’ve tried moving the upload folder, restarting the container multiple times, and checking the logs, but I still can’t get the older pictures to display thumbnails.
Strangely, these photos appear to be from 2–3 years ago, even though I haven’t had this phone that long and only recently set up Immich. I even tried the nuclear option: completely removing the container and setting it up again, but the problem persists.
At this point, I’m not sure if I missed something during the reinstall or if Immich has simply become sentient. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should try next? To be clear, what I really want to do now is completely remove all traces of these old photos (I have them backed up elsewhere) and start Immich fresh.
