Nikki’s “Splendid Imprisonment” | After reading this article with the game’s outfit designers, I’m now less salty about the veil
I’m annoyed that the only way to remove the veil from the headpiece of Guide of No Return is to reach max evolution. But after reading how the folks that design the outfits actually approach design, I’m less annoyed by it.
A player like me- obsessed with photo mode and taking endless pictures of Nikki- a piece like this is not designed solely to bleed my bank account dry, but to invoke a sense of sadness and longing. Wanting to see Nikki’s face is what the outfit designers wanted me to feel. Not just to incentivize me to keep pulling, but to have this piece and this outfit take a little bit of Nikki away. And we long for that missing piece.

For some strange reason, I find that provocative.”)
Don’t get me wrong. I wish I felt like spending $60 just to take this banner to the end, just to remove the veil. But I do not. However, knowing that they put more thought into it than just dollar signs, I appreciate the piece for what it is a lot more now than I did before.
