Hello all. As the title says, I’m 42 and looking to start a Roth IRA. I’m disappointed it’s taken me so long to get started, but I’m also trying to embrace the idea that it’s never too late. Being that I am getting a bit of a later start, I was thinking of going a little riskier and targeting some of the growth funds. Was thinking something like: 65-70% VOO/SPYM, 20-25% QQQM, 5-15% SMH. I’m also interested in VGT, SPMO, SCHG, and SCHD. Would something like this be reasonable for a Roth? Would it be better suited for a taxable brokerage account? I currently have a HYSA with several months saved for an emergency fund. My job does a defined contribution plan based on age and years of service..so no 401k to match. I should be able to max out the Roth fairly quickly, so I’ll be wanting to move funds to the TBA once that Roth is maxed. Just getting a lot of analysis paralysis on how to go about the Roth and the TBA. Thanks!
