I traded a chaser by accident 😭
I recently went to Disneyland with my partner for my birthday. I HAD SO MUCH FUN. I hadn’t been since I was a teen, and I’ve recently been getting into pins. I’m growing my collection and was so excited to visit the posts in front of Frontierland. All the traders were so nice. Got so many cute and fun pins and some I’ve been looking for. Safe to say I was also buying pins.
SO, as I’ve never bought a hidden Mickey pack before, I thought what better day than any to buy my first on my birthday. I didn’t like the ones I got, though one of them looked very familiar to me, so I stopped by one of the pin boards to trade. After waiting in a very long line, the cast member told me how I needed a receipt to trade at this specific post. I explained how Id been buying things all day and didn’t want to hold on to any boxes or extra trash and I’ve been throwing them away. I then showed him I only wanted to trade two pins both from packs I bought earlier that day. He took a look at both pins and said he couldn’t take them, but he would take the cute pink Mickey headband pin with roses on the ears. I thought it was alittle strange that he wouldn’t just say not to both, or yes to both, so I agreed since I was already having so much fun trading. I traded for another and my day continued.
The next day i kept thinking about how wierd it was that the cast member only agreed to trade one pin, after he initially told me no. So I looked up the pin and I DIDNT REALIZE I HAD THE SLEEPING BEAUTY CHASER. HE DIDNT TELL ME, HE JUST TOOK IT AHHHH. I mean I know it’s only my fault for not knowing what I had, but it was my first time buying that pack, I didn’t expect to pull a chaser. I just would’ve rather traded with someone else who wanted it than at a trading board, or to a cast member who I feel scammed me. Especially when walking by another board I heard a different cast member explain to a woman that her pin was fake and that she should be aware, “I’m just telling you, you should have your moneys worth if your buying pins.” Which I thought was sweet. I thought if I had a chaser, someone would’ve told me before I let it go😭😭😭. It’s ok. I still had a lot of fun and just taught me I should be more aware, even with cast members.
