I've been fishing my local river for the last month for brown trout with zero luck. It is currently washed out, normally the river is only 10-15m wide where I fish it, but it has been overflowing onto the marsh around it regularly due to the rain. This has also caused the already muddy water to be even worse. Normally in these conditions I go for black/dark streamers (black wooly bugger, zonker, etc), but I have had no luck.

I have been attempting to match the hatch, throwing salmonfly, mayfly, stonefly, and caddis imitations, as I have seen all of these either hatching or under debris. I have had one bite on a stonefly emerger, but haven't repeated the result yet.

I have seen one fly eat so far, and that was a mayfly, which I have attempted to match with a parachute adams and crippled mayfly, but to no avail.

So far this season has been rough, as two friends who are more experienced than me have only caught 1 each, so I'm not sure if it's me or the fish?

Pics of bugs as they are the only thing entertaining me.
