I purchased this from a rock store in Kentucky outside of Mammoth Caves. I dont remember where they said it was harvested from. They advertised it as peridotite, but im unsure. The color is right, consistent with Olivine and Pyroxene, but im fairly certain the clear crystals are quartz based on its hardness (more than 6 it scratches a nail). To my understanding, peridotite should have a very low silica content since its ultra mafic so there really shouldn't be any quartz present. What do you guys think?
