I got a little baked and...
I was reading up on particle physics and realized something pretty mind-blowing: humanity didn't actually finish the "parts list" for the universe until about 14 years ago in 2012.
Basically, if you take a bud of cannabis and break it down past the cells, past the molecules, and even past the atoms, you eventually hit the absolute floor of reality. It turns out that every single thing in existence is built from just **12 fundamental particles** (6 quarks and 6 leptons) and **5 force-carriers** (like photons and gluons).
But we didn't even confirm the final piece, the Higgs Boson until 2012. Without that one particle, nothing would have mass. Everything would just be zip-lining through space at the speed of light.
**So how does this actually "create" cannabis?**
At the subatomic level, a cannabis plant is built almost entirely from just three of those 12 particles: **Up Quarks, Down Quarks, and Electrons.**
Those three particles first arrange themselves into Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen. Then, they get pushed into specific shapes by photons and gluons to create stuff like THC or terpenes. If you broke down a flower and a piece of wood into their fundamental particles, the piles would look exactly the same.
The only reason one gets you high and the other is just a stick is the specific **arrangement and concentration** of those same 12 bits of matter.
The rest of the universe is just the "scaffolding"—dark matter holding the galaxies together and dark energy pushing the whole thing apart. It’s pretty trippy to think that the entire physical world we experience is just a very specific, organized pattern of the exact same 12 dots.
What crazy thoughts did you have last sesh?
