Im starting my journey into the Ys Series and I was wondering on which difficulty I should play?

I have played the complete Kingdom Hearts Series on the highest difficulty and beat all super bosses on critical (except Yozora).

I want the game to be challenging, but not frustratingly hard.

I don't care if I die from time to time, I would actually prefer dieing sometimes instead of blasting through the game without dieing on my first playthrough.

I'll start with VIII and go through IX and X after that.

What difficulty should I play those games?
