Any Nightreign psychologists in the sub? I'm struggling to understand player behaviour sometimes. Last night I was matched with a Wylder ("no one") and a Guardian ("night LORD"), who I think were playing together with me as the spare. The run was fine, PS5, DON3, level 15 by the end, a couple of tricky moments, some odd pathing decisions like ignoring my night invader pings despite them having the relics, but nothing major. I was quite pleased with myself because I had two bewitching branches for the outland commander fight so he was basically defeated by his summons, felt good!
For some reason, come night 3, the Guardian started attacking me in the antechamber area, dropped an item, pinged it, picked it up again, attacked me, dropped it again. I thought they wanted something from my inventory - I had a shield with taking damage boosts damage negation so I dropped it but they ignored it, so I picked it up again. They then sat down, in protest? No idea what they wanted so I did the "what do you want" gesture - maybe not that helpful since they couldn't really reply.
So we proceed to the boss arena, Fulghor, and I mark the boss. Aggro is on me so I dodge a few times, then I realise I'm on my own. Both of them are just standing there, watching. This distracts me so I get hit and downed to 1 bar. Both of them ignore me, Wylder dodges the boss without attacking, eventually gets downed. Guardian revives him and just blocks when attacked, doesn't attack back - maybe a couple of guard counters. Wylder comes over to me, half revives my one bar then stops and block spams with his greatsword. Eventually they both die, having done basically no damage to the boss and we are defeated.
I literally cannot compute - why throw a run like this? It went fine. You lose rank, for what? I don't understand! Even if someone pisses you off, it's so senseless and irrational.
