Progress update and insurance loss

Progress update and insurance loss

I’ve been on Wegovy 15 months now. Just popping in to share a quick progress update and also my anxiety around losing my health insurance (husband lost his job).

I’m currently on 2.4 mg and have been for a while. I have 4 shots of 2.4 saved up, some 1.25s and some .25s. Will probably try to pay out of pocket for the pill when I run out.

SW:240 (230 - 235 was more average for me)
CW: 195 (-45lbs)
GW: 175

This has been such a help for me. I struggle with food noise and it really has never gone away even with the wegovy. I also have ADHD just diagnosed last year.

I strength train 2-3 times a week and do yoga 2x a week + walk daily. I really hope I don’t gain it all back. I would love to lose the last 20 lbs of course but mainly just hope I can stay under 200 🙏

Anyways, really proud of myself and I feel amazing

Intervention advice for stroke survivor

Hi community, I’ve posted in here a few times about my mom‘s stroke. You can click the link below to find more information and background on her condition and her history.

https://www.reddit.com/r/stroke/s/DBBs17ED36

Today I’m coming here because I need to try again to convince her and my dad that it’s time for her to go back to rehab.

My entire family agrees with this and her in-home VNA care (PT, OT, speech) are all recommending inpatient rehab to gain the skills she needs to be able to stand in pivot - get in a wheelchair - so that she can go to the bathroom and take a shower.

Right now, my dad uses a Hoyer lift to get her out of bed and in the wheelchair, but otherwise she goes to the bathroom in a diaper every day. She’s only 62. It’s time for her to get her dignity back.

It’s less than a year since her stroke and the therapist are recommending that she go now because the longer she waits the more likely it is that it will be disruptive to her progress!! The reason my dad and her don’t want to go to rehab is because they think she’s being “locked up”. They have (valid) fears of infection and germs based on past experience. However, she no longer has an infection and her head wound has finally healed. She has improved both physically and cognitively, and she has been eating and learning to stand up next to the bed, so the PT thinks she can now tolerate more intense therapies.

Tl;Dr; she needs more than what home care can provide.

My plan is to have an intervention with our family, both present and on FaceTime, this coming Sunday. Happy Mother’s Day to me/us! 😣

Does anybody have an advice on how to handle the intervention, should I bring a mediator in?
