Understanding my Eligibility
I'm currently a federal employee working for the National Guard in a permanent Title 5 excepted service position. I worked in competitive service positions prior to taking this position. I did not realize when I left a competitive position with the Army to work for the NG in an excepted position that I would be putting myself in a difficult position to be rehired back into a competitive position and would truly appreciate any information on this matter.
I'm now looking for a new position and trying to understand what positions I can apply for. On a recent job listing, I saw I could mark the reinstatement question as yes, but I'm unsure about the question regarding positions with an interchange agreement.
I've tried to find the answers, but I can't find anything definitive. I'd appreciate any information or help anyone can provide.
