Hey,

We are running a travel app and since this year have been managing a team of ~15 UGC Creators (Canvas) + 10 purely travel UGC creators (non-canwas).

* Actually to really understand UGC and marketing we worked for a couple of brands for a month to learn how its done and managed. Made several million veiws and learned a lot, however we are still producing content for our app to test new things.

In general wanted to summarize our experience and try to help out creators to understand what brands actually want.

1. I think, the first and most important thing is:
   "Both sides (brands & UGC Creators) are here to earn money"

Its also important to understand that only big brands do campaigns just for the sake of branding. Some friends of mine work in Adidas on TIkTok campaigns and their budgets are huge.

On the other side, small brands dont have budgets and are extremely lean, usually they want to convert veiws directly into sales/downloads. So it barely makes sense to offer them cool videos of how you traveled Thailand for 5 weeks. Even if it gets veiws, most probably it will not convert. So you need to convince the brand that the ROI will be x10 - the video they pay $300 will for sure bring $3000 (See point 1), if you cant back it up with data, it would not work.

Cold outreach:
- Some creators go too overvonfident in emails/ portfolios. We get ~20 emails per day and all of the creators:

"Produce stop scrolling videos"
"Storytelling bla bla"
"Eye for details and conversion"

In reality, the only thing which matters if that you CONSISTENTLY (many many times) brought a lot of veivs which converted into money and its backed up by data. (See point 1)

Why most UGC deals are US & Europe
- Those are the markets which simply give you the biggest ROI, especially US. (See point 1)

Hiring & Success:
Usually, we know after the first call whether a campaign with a UGC creator will succeed or not, those are very simple things pretty much like in any other jobs: being on time, being professional and using calendar or having a proper portfolio (not google drive) and actually being charismatic.
