Public test 15.4 — Balance Changes #2

Captains!

We're applying balance changes to a number of ships. 

Following the previous changes, we have analyzed both player feedback and our own internal data. As such, we're introducing a second round of adjustments to ensure we reach our design goals for these ships — they should primarily excel in close-to-mid range combat. 

These changes will take effect with Update 15.4 release.

IV D. Alighieri, V Cavour, VI Andrea Doria, VII F. Caracciolo, VIII V. Veneto:

  • Dispersion pattern changed. The point at which accuracy begins to degrade moved closer to the ship.

IX Lepanto, X C. Colombo, ★ Affondatore:

  • Dispersion pattern changed. The point at which accuracy begins to degrade moved closer to the ship.
  • Access to Gun Fire Control System Modification 2 removed.
    • If the upgrade is already mounted, it will be removed and stored into the Inventory.

Closed test 15.4 — Changes to Test ships

Captains!

Based on testing results, we are applying changes to Sete de Setembro, Peredovoy, Foca, Pietro Micca, and Pietro Calvi.

X Sete de Setembro

  • Percent of non-citadel damage that can be restored increased: 50 to 60%
  • New activation effect added to Combat Instructions:
    • Consumables reload time: -20%
  • Time before Combat Instructions start losing progress increased: 50 to 90s

The initial concept for Peredovoy focused on high-risk, ‘knife-edge’ gameplay, requiring her to operate within the narrow margin between her maximum torpedo range and her concealment. Based on player feedback and internal data, we’ve decided to shift this concept while retaining its core idea. 

Peredovoy will no longer be able to launch torpedoes without being spotted. Instead she will be forced to close in to deliver a powerful torpedo salvo. To support this aggressive playstyle, improved survivability and Heavy Repair Teams will allow the ship to withstand these attacks and recover for the next approach. An enhanced Engine Boost provides additional mobility, while her reliable—though slow-firing—main battery guns offer a means of defense between torpedo runs.

Peredovoy:

  • Percent of damage received to hull parts that can be restored increased: 60 to 75%.
  • Main Battery maximum range increased: 11.1 to 12.9km
  • Torpedo parameters changed:
    • Maximum range reduced: 6.8 to 6km
    • Speed increased: 53 to 75kt
    • Detectability range increased: 0.6 to 1.6km
  • Engine Boost consumable parameters changed:
    • Reload time reduced: 120 to 60s
    • Action time reduced: 120s to 45s
    • Bonus to maximum speed increased: 8 to 20%

With the following changes to the Italian submarines' main guns we want to bring this tech tree branch in line with other ships of the nation as well as increase the range of possible targets and the ability to combat various enemies in different situations. At the same time, torpedoes received a significant adjustment. They retain their low speed, albeit with a high degree of concealment. But as torpedoes remain a significant part of these submarines' toolkit, their damage was altered to make hits more rewarding.

VI Foca

  • Main Battery parameters changed:
    • HE shells replaced with SAP with the following parameters:
      • Maximum damage - 2,250
      • Armor penetration capacity - 29mm
      • Initial velocity - 800 m/s
    • Shell ballistics changed. Arcs will now be flatter.
  • Standard torpedo maximum damage increased: 8,400 to 9,167
  • Alternative torpedoes removed.
  • Combat Instructions bonus to torpedo tubes reload time increased: 5% to 10%

VIII Pietro Micca

  • Main Battery parameters changed:
    • HE shells replaced with SAP with the following parameters:
      • Maximum damage - 2,600
      • Armor penetration capacity - 34mm
      • Initial velocity - 730 m/s
  • Shell ballistics changed. Arcs will now be flatter
  • Standard torpedo maximum damage increased: 9,500 to 10,533
  • Alternative torpedo maximum damage increased: 14,800 to 16,200

X Calvi

  • Main Battery parameters changed:
    • HE shells replaced with SAP with the following parameters:
      • Maximum damage - 2,600
      • Armor penetration capacity - 34mm
      • Initial velocity - 730 m/s
    • Shell ballistics changed. Arcs will now be flatter
  • Standard torpedo maximum damage increased: 10,800 to 12,033
  • Alternative torpedo maximum damage increased: 16,400 to 19,900
  • Combat Instructions bonus to torpedo tubes reload time increased: 15% to 20%
