Stealing an e-bike charger feels like a new low

I’m venting, but I’m just incredibly frustrated. Came home today and someone had clearly messed with my regular bike... must’ve realized the U-lock wasn’t worth the effort, so instead of leaving empty-handed, they took my e-bike charger.

It’s a proprietary charger, so it’s basically useless to anyone else and probably has almost no resale value. Meanwhile, it’s a huge pain for me. I’ve got to order a replacement and hope it gets here before FQF.

I go out of my way to lock everything down so there’s no temptation, but apparently even a bike charger isn’t safe. Fuck these porch pirate thieving pieces of shit.

We all knew Cantrell was brazen, but memorializing potential criminal evidence in her official mayoral portrait hung in the city's ceremonial venue? That's gotta be a first in the annals of public corruption prosecutions

I apologize if this is breaking the rule about posting the actual headline in the article. I'm posting this because I want to highlight the painting itself, which I don't think has really been discussed on this sub before.

According to this NOLA.com, U.S. Attorneys want to introduce evidence in Cantrell's corruption trial that Vappie "gifted a pair of gold rings to the mayor and then conspired to hide them," with one of the rings being "emblazoned with the NOPD logo."

Not only is there plenty of photographic evidence of Cantrell wearing them in photos in public, but her official portrait also depicts them!

This has to be a first in the history of mayoral indictments: Not only being photographed with potential evidence of your crimes, but also having them painted into your official portrait and hung in the city's most important ceremonial building! Truly wild stuff that will be great fodder for anyone giving a tour of Gallier Hall in the years to come.
