LDS Church Leadership Invites Church Members to Participate in United Fast for Religious Liberty

LDS Church Leadership Invites Church Members to Participate in United Fast for Religious Liberty

I first saw this on Instagram.

Joseph Smith said:

“If it has been demonstrated that I have been willing to die for a "Mormon," I am bold to declare before Heaven that I am just as ready to die in defending the rights of a Presbyterian, a Baptist, or a good man of any denomination; for the same principle which would trample upon the rights of the Latter-day Saints would trample upon the rights of the Roman Catholics, or of any other denomination who may be unpopular and too weak to defend themselves. It is a love of liberty which inspires my soul — civil and religious liberty to the whole of the human race.”

And

“Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Nauvoo, that the Catholics, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, Latter-day Saints, Quakers, Episcopals, Universalists, Unitarians, Mohammedans [Muslims], and all other religious sects and denominations whatever, shall have free toleration, and equal privileges in this city ...”

Latter-Day Saints are invited to fast on June 5th for religious Liberty.

Then on the fifth Sunday of June, we will also have a special service dedicated to religious liberty.

As a tradition that believes its leaders are “Prophets, Seers and Revelators” this has some people wondering (or worried) about what it coming.

But who knows, maybe nothing will happen and it will all will be well. But maybe they are trying to prepare us for something.

Just thought I would share this small tid bit of news I found interesting. I am of course curious yalls thoughts. Hope yall have a good one, peace.

The UC Gundam universe joins the UNSC in fighting the covenant, would it change anything?

Assuming the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon (and any splinter or minor groups) from the universal century of mobile suit Gundam, were teleported to the halo universe. Let’s say somewhere in the sol system. Not negatively impacting gravity or anything.

Assuming they are a single combined front that seeks to assist the UNSC in any capacity that they would be able to.

Would they be able to assist against fighting the covenant (or maybe the flood) in any meaningful way? Would they impact any battles or campaigns? Or heck, would they be able to turn the tide? Or are the covenant just too much?

At what point does rhetoric become accountability?

I recently have been thinking about the more prevalent antisemitic rhetoric that seems to be going around.

Along with a recent video by an lds content creator. I know that many lds feel the current rhetoric surrounding the church and their membership in it has lead to things like the church shooting and then a church setting of fire. Words leading directly to action. Going beyond criticisms and disagreement and question, but seems to be “more”.

So my question is then, for you, where is the line when rhetoric becomes accountability for actions taken?

Or members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints?

Just about every week I hear how Mormonism is white Islam. How it’s just blue eyed Islam. Blind Islam, How it’s American Islam. Etc etc

So Muslims, what do you think about or regarding Mormons or Mormonism?

Today, 80% of Americans say religion is losing influence in American life. Sociologist Christian Smith’s book-length study Why Religion Went Obsolete: The Decline of Traditional Religion (2025) provides data that support this perception. One international study in the last decade that examined national levels of religiosity found that the United States ranked 14% lower in religiosity than formerly communist Russia. Many Americans have replaced religious commitments and identity with devotion to aspects of politics, popular culture, science, or all three.

Religion has been a controversial issue in popular media for decades. Unfortunately, shock is a more effective hook than carefully measured and well-established scientific findings about religion. As a result, we have a cultural susceptibility to listen to loud voices coming from various (and often extreme) cultural and political perspectives instead of making the effort to understand what rigorous analyses of scientific data reveal.

In an effort to combat extremes and the misinformation they can produce, we ask a central question: As we begin the second quarter of the 21st century, what do the best medical and social science studies tell us about religion and mental, physical, and social health? In The Religion and Mental Health Connection, the first report in a three-part series on religion and health, we draw on findings from medicine, psychology, family studies, and sociology that examine religious involvement and its relationship to psychological well-being, emotional functioning, and psychiatric outcomes.

Studies reporting positive associations between religious involvement and mental health (961) outnumber those reporting negative associations (101) by nearly 10:1. The strongest evidence links religious involvement to lower suicide risk, better coping with stress, reduced substance abuse and addiction, and higher levels of hope, meaning, and life satisfaction.

Although harmful or coercive forms of religion do exist, the overall pattern across the best available studies is clear: religious belief and practice are overwhelmingly associated with better mental and
emotional well-being.

The other two parts of this series, which will focus on physical health and social health, respectively, will be released in the over the course of the next several weeks.

Meetra Surik, also known as the exile in the Star Wars old republic times.

She had the ability to cut people off entirely from the force. This has degrees. It can kills (as the force seems to be the energy source of all life) or more commonly just sever any force sensitivity, powers, or connection, while leaving the person alive. She is seen as a counter or a “light side” mirror of Darth Nihilus.

She herself was a wound in the force and cut herself off totally and completely. Maker her essentially just a normal (real life) human.

In this situation, let’s say she was emboldened by the pleadings of Darth Traya. She is determined to kill and remove the force. Through her being a wound in the force, at the height of her power, at a nexus location, she decides to eliminate all beings connection, reliance, and sensitivity to both the force, and the warp. Them being the cause of unimaginable suffering and pain.

This situation happens. The stars align perfectly that her plan and goal is achieved.

Everyone essentially becomes blanks. There is no more warp corruption of individuals. There is no more warp mutations. Even all changes automatically reverse. No more force or warp powers or amps. Nothing. This includes all Daemons and animals. Even the chaos Gods no longer can connect or draw power from the warp. She is no respect or of persons. From the greatest Sith Lord, to the smallest infant. All have their connection cut. The warp and the force are now incapable of empowering, connecting , or in any way interacting with any thing.

The wound and tear is total and complete.

What would happen in each of the respective universe. What would be the consequences? How bad would it get.

I will give one alternative situation. The God emperor foresaw this happening. And so, in preparation, he upped the sacrifices to him, or built a specific shield, or some other mugufin that allowed him to maintain The Astronomican. Along with keeping navigators operational. But that’s all that was able to be saved.

Edit: because it looks like I wasn’t clear. I’m saying all things stay alive. Just have no connection to the force or the warp. I understand these are life giving entities, but assuming that life remains but any and all connections are lost.

Could the unicorn Gundam, piloted by a peak prime new time. Maybe Amuro Ray or Banagher Links. Take on or kill angels? Especially with the new type/soul integration?

Let’s hear it.

The dark reaper which feeds off the force and uses that power to power shields and weapons, and output to destroy everything around it. Draining the life from its targets as it goes.

Activating this in the warp creates essentially a never ending and forever expanding bomb. Once activated would assumingely consume all of the warp.

What do yall think?

Assuming that they were randomly gifted or discovered these 11. And they could not just shelf them away or be scared of them. They had the knowledge and will to use them, would it make any difference at all? Would it drastically aid the imperium?

Would it help tip the scales in any way?

Lastly, how would the imperium use them? What doctrines or methods or tactics would they use with them?

The eleven are:

1.) the Star Forge

2.) the Death Star 1 + 2

3.) Star Killer Base

4.) World Devastator

5.) Center Point Station

6.) the Malachor Super weapon

7.) a fleet of 10,000 XYSTON-CLASS STAR DESTROYERS + 1 Eclipse-Class Dreadnought + The Executor

8.) The Galaxy Gun

9.) the Omega Frost

10.) the Sun Crusher

11.) Mass Shadow Generator + The Dark Reaper

There’s something for everyone in this week’s data reports from Gallup and The Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) examining shifts in American religiosity:

People of faith can be encouraged by Gallup data pointing to increased religious identification and attendance, especially among young men.

Nonbelieving Americans may feel some validation from PRRI data denying “any evidence” of a religious resurgence.

Some may take note of evidence of a continued decline in young women identifying as religious.

But many are left confused by this swirl of data:

Are young men really diverging that much from young women in their religiosity? And is there legitimate evidence of religious revival, or are we looking at overly eager religious observers finding premature hope in outlier data?

After digging into these numbers ourselves and reaching out to researchers from both organizations, the Deseret News summarizes four takeaways from the joint data release this week. As illustrated below, America’s religious realities are more nuanced and less dramatic than many passionate stakeholders may wish.

1. American young men do seem to be talking about faith more positively

2. Church attendance of young men and young women is similar — and both increasing

3. Broader religious decline is ‘paused,’ but still significant

4. Evidence of larger religious revival is contested

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that its new Nauvoo Temple Visitors’ Center will be dedicated this June on a historic date for the faith.

The new visitors’ center in Nauvoo, Illinois, will be dedicated Saturday, June 27, by Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He will be rededicating the restored Brigham and Mary Ann Young Home at the same time, per a press release recently published on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

The June 27 dedication date for both of these Nauvoo sites is significant, as it commemorates the martyrdom of the faith’s founding prophet, Joseph Smith, and his brother Hyrum Smith, who were killed in Carthage, Illinois, on June 27, 1844.

The date also marks 24 years since the dedication of the reconstructed Nauvoo Illinois Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ.

“Our hope is that all who come here will feel the love of Jesus Christ and gain a deeper appreciation for the sacred covenants and ordinances of his holy house,” said Elder Kyle S. McKay, a General Authority Seventy who currently serves as church historian and recorder.

“The vast majority of covenants and ordinances performed in temples today were first restored in Nauvoo.”

Texas can require the state’s public schools to display Ten Commandments posters, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled Tuesday.

The 9-8 decision follows a lawsuit by a group of families of diverse religious backgrounds, who argued that the law violates their First Amendment protections — the prohibition on government establishment of religion and the guarantee of free exercise. But in its opinion, issued in New Orleans, the appellate court concluded that the Texas law did not violate these constitutional principles.

“We conclude the Texas law does not violate either the Establishment Clause or the Free Exercise Clause,” the ruling reads.

The close ruling is the latest development in a long-running national debate and legal battle, also playing out in Louisiana and Arkansas, about the place of religion — and religious texts in particular — in public education.

Minovsky Particles are a fictional particle found in the UC Gundam universe.

TLDR taken from Reddit;

> Minovsky particles are particles created when the specific type of fusion reactor in the Universal Century consumes the Helium-3 from Jupiter. They make bean weaponry work, and are generally super-powerful and energetic. However, they have the big downside of causing any sort of radar, scanners, communication, etc. to stop working due to the particles interference. Visual contact is required in order to fight while near or using a minovsky reactor. That’s why Mobile Suits became so powerful and required in conflict, since they’re more agile than a tank or fighter craft and rely on visuals to control, giving them the advantage over ships. Later series have people tactically using minovsky particles at the beginning of a battle to confuse and disrupt enemies who weren’t ready for the interference.

How would this interact with each universe and faction? What do you think?

I assume the CIS and Mechanicum would be messed up.

I am curious how it would interact with the warp and things like the tyranids. Would it mess with warp or force sensitivity? Or even basic navigation.

How different would combat be?

Love to hear your thoughts fellow scientists.
