We have a 3 year old boy in our center that refuses to eat anything while in our care. He tries to flip his plate at every meal. His teachers and leadership team don't necessarily see any other major indicators for neurodivergence.

During the tour, the child's mother and her parents were in attendance. They were very forthcoming and stated he does not eat anything whatsoever at home. I asked if they have tried a nutritional therapist. Mom stated they had but did not have a positive outcome. Then, what seems like the root of his issues came to light. The grandparents spoke up and said, well, we give him about 6 PediaSure shakes at home. I must have had a face at that point because mom stated the pediatrician said 'we need to cut back on those.' So they are at least somewhat aware this is not normal.

The grandparents are very much involved. They mentioned that the last center they would hang out in the lobby of the preschool and watched the live feed camera constantly. They would pop up to speak with the leadership team about their concerns.

I feel this poor child needs some intervention that we don't have the skills for. Is this something to report? I would love to find a different solution if anyone has some insight and advice in which we can get this boy to start to have a normal relationship with food.

Thank you in advance.
