I am getting observed this week and was hoping this community could help me out. I have two new students who are pre-literate and from what I can gauge only one can read a little bit in Arabic. My formal observation is with a high beginner class and some low intermediates thrown in there and I’m going to be doing/focusing on the future with going to. Any suggestions on how to include them when they’re still struggling to write their ABCs and their names ? Any suggestions would be appreciated! TIA

I am an adult ESL teacher teaching in a program that has open enrollment throughout the year. Ideally they would have finished by now, but I just got two students from Yemen who do not know how to read, write, or speak in English. Most of my class is high beginner and a few low intermediate.
Any suggestions??? also if you can give me any resources that you know of that I can use with them in class on the side…
TIA
