I am looking to get into backpacking this summer. I have friends who are very experienced. The longest I would be going out for is 2 nights 3 days maximum. I was gifted an REI 40L backpack a very long time ago and I really haven't found a use for it other than air travel because I feel like it's an awkward size. Is it a good size for backpacking? I have seen a lot of people recommend 50 liters or more. If it's too small, should I sell it and get a comparable 50L or 55L pack?

I am currently trying to decide between the 3Ds and the 3D Pros. I need new water shoes for light river activities (wet wading, floating, paddle boarding), light hiking, and a sandal for around town, so I figured I would try these minimalist shoes. I do a lot of biking to the river to fly fish after work. I have heard that the 3Ds fare better on concrete, but that the hook-and-loop attachment system on the 3D Pros has some advantages, although they wear down quicker on concrete. The 3Ds are a little cheaper, but I have concerns about the velcro heel strap holding up in mud and water.
Anybody have experience with either shoe? And for my purposes, which is better? Thanks!
Recently bought these sandals because I needed a new pair of water shoes. Primarily wanted them for river wading/light hiking but I want to start walking in minimalist sandals more. They're my first pair. I've seen a lot of people say different things about how they should fit, including that your toes should be right at the edge. However, I want to be protected from stubbing my toe underwater. They feel good tho. I am a 13-13.5 and I got the Men's 13. Should I try a size down?
