Xiaomi Overrides App Notification Sounds - Any Fix?
I’d like to ask long-time Xiaomi users about something, because I bought the Xiaomi 17 yesterday and one thing immediately surprised and honestly disappointed me.
It seems impossible to keep the original notification sounds from apps themselves. For example, if I get a message on Messenger, I want to hear the standard Messenger notification sound, and the same for WhatsApp or other apps. Instead, Xiaomi appears to override everything with system notification sounds. (e.g. droplet)
I can choose different sounds manually for notification categories, but I cannot find any option to simply “use app default sound” and preserve the original sounds built into apps like Messenger or WhatsApp.
So my question is: is this actually how Xiaomi works? Are Xiaomi users basically forced to either use one system sound for everything, or manually assign custom sounds, but never use the original default app sounds?
