[Weird Trope] Protagonist has a one-off scene where they break someone's heart and the movie continues like that didn't just happen.
The Brave Little Toaster - The Flower
In the movie Toaster encounters a lone flower that notices its reflection in his metal body. It becomes immensely attached to the idea of not being alone, finally having another flower beside it. Toaster tries to get it to calm down but finally leaves it. The lingering shot of the flower wilting in silence is all we are left with.
The Sword in the Stone - The Squirrel
Arthur and Merlin turn themselves into squirrels and encounter two other squirrels in the boughs of a tree. Both squirrels instantly fell in love with the polymorphed characters. When Arthur becomes a human again the lady squirrel dashes away and hides, wondering where the squirrel had gone. Last we see of her she is crying in the hole of a tree.
