What do you think, does the animation read like dirt flying around? Any tips?

What I should have done today: Worked on the core gameplay loop. What I actually did: Added VFX for Smite spell, turned on god mode, and zapped defenseless goblins for a while

I've been working on a tower defense roguelike game for a few months, decided to add some juice to the spells for a change of pace.

Pretty happy with this one, might need to add a way to upgrade it from a single lightning bolt to a whole lightning storm.

I've been working on little game ideas on and off for years, stubbornly trying to build my own 2D engine. Finally decided to give Godot a try since it's open source anyway and holy cow, I've been an idiot. It's so nice to have built in stuff to handle animations, autotile, collision, game layer/ui layer differences, etc, etc.

Here's a little tower defense roguelike I've been working on. It's got a long way to go, but really just amazed that it looks somewhat like a game after only 2 months.
