I wanna start grilling, specifically with charcoal, for the first time this summer. Any tips?
I don’t know how to grill at all. My dad barely knew how, in my opinion, and I didn’t try to learn from him.
Edit: I didn’t know the difference between grilling and barbecuing. I will be using the grill in the second picture for the time being.
In summary, so far, y’all said….
Steps to Grilling
- Stack the coals like a pyramid and light from the middle
- Season and put onions on the coals???
- Spray Bottle of water to cool the coals
- Let the coals burn and get a white ash coating BEFORE placing meat down (15-25 mins)
- Keep Meats away from the main heat until at the desired temperature and THEN sear
- Try the half-grill method. Charcoal on one side, no charcoal on the other. Control the heat!
