I have a fender pbass and I’ve been using Ernie ball flats for about 1.5 years. My bass is set up perfectly to the strings and they play well.
Here’s some pros and cons
Pros
Smoothish
Silk matches strap
Bass is set to strings
Mostly good for everything I play
Long lasting
Blends to the band
Unique slap tone
Cons

Not consistently smooth throughout the string
Expensive
Less volume on d&g strings
Not perfect for everything I play
Overall more pros than cons I’m just wondering what will give me a smoother feel while still sounding bright and thumpy like Ernie’s.
A side note, has anyone tried ground wounds/half rounds?
If this comes to me sticking with Ernie’s then it is what it is but if there’s something better I’d rather have it.
