Advice needed: How to find temporary jobs or client-facing roles in retail/services

I have been actively job hunting for almost a year now. I have applied for about 115 jobs; rather than just "blast applying," I am applying for jobs in my field and adjacent fields, though each day I stretch my search a bit more. I have attended career fairs, networked, and met people (including friends, acquaintances, and strangers) for coffee. Still, I have no job.

This whole situation sucks but something needs to change. Clearly, something is not working, and I need to start generating income right away. I have realized I need to try something different, like a temporary or contract-based job, or a client-facing role such as a sales or call center representative.

The thing is, I don’t really know how to go about it or where to look. I have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree, both in the social sciences with a quantitative focus. My BA is from a reputable university, and my Master’s is from an Ivy League university. I have 12+ years of experience doing high-stakes work (in the public sector, nonprofits, and financial services) and am quite tech-savvy and disciplined with good people skills. Sure, I might be “overqualified,” but I don’t care; I need to generate some income right away.

I am based in the Northeast U.S. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
